Sweet Baked Beans

A BBQ crowdpleaser, these beans are similar to the "Boston Baked Beans" you might get on the east coast.

Ingredients
  

  • 1 large can pork and beans no additional flavouring
  • 1/2 cup ketchup
  • 1/2 cup dark brown sugar
  • 1 tsp onion powder granulated onion
  • 2 tsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 tsp mustard powder

Equipment

  • 1 9x13 glass baking dish

Method
 

  1. Preheat oven to 400F.
  2. Combine all ingredients in 9x13 casserole dish. Stir to combine.
  3. Bake uncovered for one hour or until top of beans has started to harden (candy).

Notes

  • These are definitely on the sweet side.  The top shouldn't be rock hard when finished:  instead, it should somewhat caramelize.
