Carolina Gold BBQ Sauce

Another awesome sauce that departs from the standard tomato base. This sauce is fantastic on pork and chicken and even works great as a sauce for wings!
Prep Time 5 minutes
Cook Time 10 minutes
Course: Sauce
Cuisine: BBQ

Ingredients

  • 3/4 cup yellow mustard
  • 1/2 cup honey
  • 1/4 cup dark brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup apple cider vinegar
  • 3 tbsp ketchup
  • 3 tsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1/2 tsp seasoned salt
  • hot sauce to taste

Equipment

  • 1 medium sauce pan

Method

  1. Combine all ingredients in sauce pan on medium heat.
  2. Heat until sauce slightly reduces, roughly ten minutes.
  3. Cool and then serve.

Notes

  • You can toss wings in this sauce same as you would a regular hot sauce
  • I’ve also done this sauce with balsamic vinegar instead of apple cider and it’s great!
  • I’d go with a milder hot sauce here:  you don’t want to overpower the flavour.
